While the two main reasons that dry shampoos have made a come back over the past few years is due to the known damage of over washing and the obvious time factor, going with a dry solution can save gallons of water.
There are some high-end aerosol products available on the market. The most popular ones include:
- Bumble and Bumble
- Klorane
- Frederic Fekkai
- Algemarin
- TIGI
- Oscar Blandi
Because of the growing popularity in dry shampoos, we expect to see this list increase over the next little while.
In the meantime, if you don’t feel like splurging quite yet, try using a small amount of cornstarch in your hair and brush it out. You can get creative by scenting it with natural dried flowers or essential oils.
If you’re adventurous, you may also explore using ground grains, oatmeal, semolina flour, chickpea flour or talcum powder.
Use small amounts, apply over a sink and test over a weekend.
Remember, dry shampoos don’t replace wet cleansing and conditioning but they are a perfect in-between solution to avoid overkill on the products.
Oh yeah, they’re all natural too!
I love green!!
